FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE DISTRICT COUNCIL

Transforming Over 200 Homes Through Energy Efficiency and Innovation

Aran recently partnered with Folkestone & Hythe District Council (FHDC) to deliver a large-scale, whole-house retrofit project under the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 2.1.

The £4 million programme focused on improving energy performance, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting the council’s net zero ambitions. Over 200 homes were upgraded with advanced energy efficiency measures, including external wall insulation, air source heat pumps, solar PV systems and energy-efficient glazing, all delivered to PAS2030:2019 and Trustmark standards.

“We highly recommend Aran to any partner looking to upgrade, retrofit, design and install energy efficiency measures as part of a funded programme or scheduled planned works. The retrofitting process was seamless, with minimal disruption to our residents, and we have already noticed a significant reduction in energy consumption and costs.”

Long Term Partnership

Having been awarded SHDF Wave 2 funding, we continue to deliver grant funded works with Folkestone and Hythe, a further 80 homes will receive fabric improvement upgrades during the spring of 2024.

Aran Insulation have worked collaboratively and effectively with the council to deliver the PAS2035 Assessments, designs and installations for the social housing decarbonisation fund wave 1.

In particular Aran worked with the independent Retrofit Coordinator to identify and deliver the right measures in a timely and responsive manner. Additionally, Aran worked well with our tenants, mobilised quickly once measures were agreed, and stepped up to alleviate potential delays to the extent that an additional portfolio of homes were awarded to Aran.

We have been delighted with the work of the company and their efforts to ensure KPIs have been achieved.
