Scotland Solar Scheme

Delivering Solar PV and Battery Storage Across 214 Homes

Aran delivered a large-scale residential solar PV and battery storage programme across 214 homes in Perth & Kinross, helping households reduce energy costs, improve energy efficiency and benefit from renewable electricity.

Building on the support provided to residents through AgilityEco’s Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP) outreach service, the £2 million programme was funded through the Warm Home Discount and ECO Flex schemes.

Delivered between November 2025 and March 2026, the project combined solar photovoltaic (PV) panels with battery storage, enabling households to generate renewable electricity and make greater use of the energy produced within their own homes.

A Coordinated Approach to Large-Scale Solar Installation

Delivering renewable energy improvements across more than 200 homes required careful planning and close collaboration between everyone involved in the programme.

Following an initial project meeting, weekly meetings were held to keep all parties aligned on timescales and delivery plans. Project planning covered everything from scheme eligibility and initial property surveys through to installation, helping maintain a consistent workflow while minimising the disruption for residents.

Resident engagement was also a key part of the programme. Pre-installation walkthroughs, tailored communications and ongoing aftercare helped households understand the improvements being made to their homes and how to get the most from their new technology.

Delivery was TrustMark compliant and MCS certified, with close collaboration to maintain quality and compliance throughout the project.

Project Outcomes

The Scotland Solar Scheme demonstrates how solar PV and battery storage can be delivered efficiently and at scale while maintaining high standards of compliance, quality and resident engagement.

For a typical property with a 2.5 - 4 kWp system, projected outcomes include:

•    2,200 - 3,500 kWh of renewable electricity generated annually
•    £400 - £700 annual bill savings
•    0.5 - 0.8 tonnes of CO₂ saved per year
•    Up to 70 - 80% self-consumption where battery storage is installed.

Alongside the direct benefits for individual households, the programme supports wider decarbonisation objectives, encourages greater awareness of household energy use and demonstrates the role that regional supply chains can play in delivering renewable energy programmes at scale.

“We were absolutely delighted with the service we received, the whole process was seamless. Excellent craftsmen, knew exactly what they were doing, installed our solar panels with the minimum of fuss and looked after the house from start to finish.”

- D Walton, Resident.
