Helping a Family Create a Warmer, More Energy-Efficient Home

Working in partnership with North Northamptonshire Council and Warmify, Aran helped Paul and his family transform their draughty home through a carefully planned programme of energy efficiency improvements. The family had been experiencing issues with draughts, condensation and mould, while rising energy bills were making it increasingly difficult and expensive to keep their home warm.

Funded through the UK Government's Warm Homes: Local Grant, the project took a whole-house approach to identify the improvements that would make the greatest difference to the property's comfort, energy efficiency and long-term running costs. Following a detailed assessment, a combination of solar PV panels, a solar battery, loft insulation and improved ventilation was installed.

Paul's property received solar panels, a solar battery, loft insulation and ventilation improvements.

“I have an app to see how much the solar panels generate each day, and I’ve set up the export tariff with my provider. So, working out how much it will reduce bills over the course of a year, it’s fantastic!”

Tackling Rising Energy Bills and a Cold Home

Paul and his family had been living with draughts, condensation and mould, while rising energy bills made it increasingly expensive to keep their home warm. A whole-house assessment identified the improvements that could make the biggest difference to the family's comfort and long-term energy efficiency.

Aran installed a combination of solar PV panels, a solar battery, loft insulation and improved ventilation. Together, these measures help retain heat, generate and store electricity, improve airflow and reduce the risk of damp and mould.

Whole House Retrofit For Energy Efficiency

Aran installed a combination of Solar PV panels, a solar battery, loft insulation and improved ventilation. Together, these measures are helping to retain heat, generate and store electricity, improve airflow and reduce the risk of damp and mould.

The improvements have helped create a warmer, more comfortable and energy-efficient home. The project is expected to reduce Paul's energy costs, lower carbon emissions and improve the property's EPC rating from D to C, with an estimated average annual bill savings of £500 based on typical household energy use at 2026 prices.
