Moving More for our Mental Health

Friday, May 17, 2024

Our new People and Culture Lead, Megan Farrow, has hit the ground running this week with a whole week of activities for our team to support Mental Health Awareness Week.

This year’s theme was movement: moving more for our mental health.

We’ve completed quizzes and brain teasers and had many walking meetings especially on Wednesday when there was a step count challenge!

Moving our bodies is particularly important for our mental health, research by the Mental Health Foundation shows that more than a third of UK adults find it challenging to find the time for movement. When life’s busy, it can be tricky finding time for wellbeing-boosting activities but finding moments for movement might be easier than you think.

Why not use the time you spend waiting to move more?

When you’re waiting for the kettle to boil, or waiting for a meeting to start why not take a little walk? The small things add up.
