Surveyor Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: Surveyor Manager
LOCATION: Head Office, Units 1-6, Old Station, Higham, Bury St Edmunds
REPORTING TO: Operations Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Managing Team of Retro Assessors at Aran Insulation Ltd

Job Role
To assist in developing the surveying division by managing the activity of Retrofit Assessors and DEAs to ensure that service standards, compliance and sales targets are consistently achieved. Responsible for the recruitment and training programs of Retrofit Assessors to meet company objectives. You will be required to support, motivate, and train members to be process driven and efficient in the use of tech, apps, survey tools and techniques. Implementation of whole house holistic surveying to ensure all energy savings measure opportunities are captured which will involve liaising with product owners within Aran and approved sub-contractors to ensure specs and technical survey information is fully captured and correct to allow for successful installations and compliance. In conjunction there will be an ongoing requirement of building and maintaining a standard best practise surveyor manual which can also be used as a new starter training manual to ensure the whole team are surveying accurately, consistently, and holistically.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for managing, developing, and motivating a team of Retro Assessors.
2. Expand Retrofit Assessor capacity to service company objectives
3. Responsible for managing the survey conversion rate and surveyor performance and ensuring surveyors are delivering whole house surveys to maximise opportunities and meet scheme requirements.
4. Ensure full compliance and promote a ‘right first time’ approach to capture all relevant survey information and evidence for all insulation and heating measures.
5. Driving improvements into our survey processes to create optimal and predictable performance output from your team.
6. Technical support to relevant colleagues and direct reports.
7. Communicating appropriately with a diverse range of people including colleagues, clients, accreditation schemes, sub-contractors.
8. Feedback to relevant colleagues responsible for lead quality and highlight recommendations of inclusions and exclusions at call inception stage to ensure optimal filtering of calls to improve survey conversion target.
9. Work closely and attend relevant meetings with line manager and project manager(s) to understand scheme requirements, eligibility criteria and survey sales focus.
10. Feed into departmental sales pipeline with live fluid data to aid successful scheme delivery 
and budget control and communicate any bespoke works where necessary with colleagues to ensure competence throughout the job journey.

11. Keeping accurate records of discussions or correspondence with customers surrounding compliments and complaints and update relevant logs and follow up to action/share root cause successes and improvements.
12. Undertake necessary spot checks to paperwork/surveys/evidence to ensure conformance and reduction of wastage and loss of production.
13. Traveling to site when valuable to do so. Carry out desktop and on-site audits to maintain required service standards and quality.
14. Administer and maintain in house training records.
15. Undertake direct reports appraisals and personal development plans.
16. Build and maintain surveyor best practise manual.
17. Carry out any other Ad Hoc Duties, which may be required by the business from time to time.

Qualifications and Qualities assessed at interview
We are looking for a confident, responsible leader who can demonstrate a sales based lean and strategic mindset with broad knowledge of surveying/managing of in house and subcontractor survey delivery teams.

• Experience with managing a team, advocate of continuous improvement of team performance
• Impeccable communication skills.
• Competent Insulation or Heating technical knowledge.
• Logical and creative sales based management skills.
• Effective stakeholder management.
• Multi tasking and staying accountable to multiple targets and objectives.
• DEA qualified Retrofit Assessor qualified or working towards Retrofit Coordinator, desirable but not essential.
• Computer literate

The Surveying Manager position will be predominantly based at the Aran Insulation Ltd Head office, in Higham and will work normal office hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, however on occasions will be required on site and to work outside of these hours and away from the head office. Staff are required to attend occasional training courses, conferences and meetings that may necessitate staying away from home overnight. Project Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Managing funding and installation of projects for multiple customers to tight deadlines.

Job Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will require the direct line management of a team of Project CoOrdinator’s. Managing a developing team, you will be required to motivate, develop, and train members to be process driven and efficient using project management tools and techniques. You will also be an advocate for a positive, professional, open culture. Your team will be required to manage installation for customers to controlled deadlines with multiple inputs from installer and Local Authorities and communicating with customers to ensure a harmonious project journey. You will be responsible for generating KPI’s to manage your teams efficiency and output, driving improvements into project processes to create optimal output and timelines. You will implement and improve Standard Operating Procedure to ensure predictable performance from your team. Communicating with both internal and external stakeholders daily, this role relies on impeccable communication skills and attention to detail. You will be expected to report to Senior Manager and Director level regularly and have direct control over budgetary requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for motivating and training a team of Project Co-Ordinator’s
• Budgetary Management including control of Local Authority funding streams to ensure no overspend occurs
• The development of people, process, and professional culture
• Effective stakeholder management, both internal and external at senior level including Local Authority Level
• Strategic focus on Project and Process Improvement
• To define and deliver Customer and Local Authority Projects within time, budget and quality constraints

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

An office-based role in Higham, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk with construction site visits.

Due to a high demand of work in the Fire Protection industry this exciting opportunity has come up for anyone who wants to start a career in surveying or someone looking to further their experience in the construction industry. We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional candidate to join our team to with preparing valuations, invoicing, and on-site surveys. With excellent communication skills, and a high level of personal motivation you must have the ability to work well in our team but also thrive independently.

Role includes:
Ø Booking in & conducting site surveys
Ø Preparing valuations for completed passive fire protection of steelwork, fire stopping, fire barriers & fire doors
Ø Assisting surveyors on site
Ø Writing up survey reports & quotations for clients
Ø Liaising with clients
Ø Assisting with final accounts valuations/final accounts with subcontractors/main contractors

Skills required:
Ø Experience of surveying in the construction industry (preferable)
Ø Knowledge on Passive Fire Protection (preferable)
Ø Basic skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Word & Outlook
Ø Full UK driving licence

Experienced Domestic Energy Assessor/ Retrofit Assessor

Due to continued growth we need another Domestic Energy Assessor to join our team, preferably within the East of England or South East based.

The new team member will need to complete full ECO3 and technical surveys in both the private and social housing sectors for Loft, Cavity, Room In Roof and Solid Wall Insulation. Experience of all measures would be a benefit but full training may be provided for the right candidate.

This is a great opportunity to join a well established, progressive company with long term ECO contracts and secured work streams. Qualified DEA preferred in line with PAS2035 requirements. Self generation ability an advantage but not a necessity.
